The Balcony is Open
I saw the first commercial for Blood and Chocolate the other day, and needless to say, as soon as I heard the words "from the producers of Underworld" my hopes immediately sank down. Actually watching the commercial didn't help things any. It just looks like any other "young adults who are supernaturally different from you and me" flick. You could repleace the werewolves with witches or vampires or God knows what else and still get the same deal. The fact that the studio didn't even keep the book's original author updated on the movie's progress is another huge red flag. You can be pretty damn sure the reason they did that was because if she did see what they were doing to her book she'd raise hell about it.

A movie I am looking forward to: Stardust. I actually haven't read the book it's based on yet, but my reasons for anticipation are based in a similar vein of thought. If Stardust does well, it'll pave the way for more Neil Gaiman adaptations, like for American Gods, Neverwhere, or the one I'd love to see the most, Good Omens. I'm also really, really looking forward to the movie adaptation of Death: The High Cost of Living, because I am a huge Death/Sandman fan.

In other news, I'm almost finished with the next So As I Pray series one-shot. I'm going to rename the series itself Road to Perdition; it's by far a more fitting title. I just wish I could think of something decent to write for the [info]fsn_fiction monthly challenge. But hate is a really hard prompt to work with. Hopefully next month's will be something a little easier.
